Ils sont constitu\u00e9s de trois muscles de la r\u00e9gion post\u00e9rieure de la cuisse (biceps f\u00e9moral, le semi-tendineux et le semi-membraneux). Ils sont essentiellement fl\u00e9chisseurs de la jambe et, accessoirement pour certains, extenseurs de la cuisse.
